It was with a slightly heavy heart that I set out to try and get my beloved ma in law a really nice florally based mothering sunday present. I say heavy heart because these days the poor old soul is permanently befuddled and knows not what day of the week it is and certainly doesn’t know what’s happening in the wider world, being anything outside her care home bedroom door. This is such a pity as she was of very lively brain and sharp wit and an absolute joy to buy any present for. Small perfumery items always went down well – pretty little bottles would please her best as they were easy to operate and keep in her top drawer of the main bedroom cabinet. Very much one who never had her favourite stuff on display, and for fear that the scent would evaporate if left out of the box !
